Western New York is an old, industrial area with a rich past currently in a real estate bubble.   The housing stock dates from mid 1800's and includes many outstanding examples of (insert cool style here) .

The amount of fresh water in the area is remarkable- the Erie Canal cuts into the Niagara river which flows from Lake Erie and ends at Niagara Falls.   There is no shortage of historic things to do and see for those not expecting an organized tour.

I wander a lot and revisit places I grew up with.  These images find their way into my work, not always directly or with my prompting. It's a large area that has seen better days.  There are some pockets enjoying an influx of state money- we will have to wait to see how many pockets truly benefit.
