Miriam passed in March. Phyllis did a great job putting it all together: the service was nice, folks showed up, it was warm and sunny and we let go of the stress (although it took a good week or 2 back home for that to complete).
This painting, titled "Lifted", was done on 2, 30" square canvas, as it needed the space.
I'm not sure if its better to have a parent in a nursing home nearby or not. It is hard regardless of all the crap over the years, all the wrangling with folks you don't know, rules that seem to change constantly, unfamiliar environments, and especially having to face your own mortality as someone else's unfolds in front of you.
